100 Days of Design: Week 6

Yikes

Ok, I didn’t get a chance to test out any new software this week. I’ve carved out some time this weekend to dive into something new, and will hopefully have something to show for next weeks post.

This week started off strong, but as real work started to pile it — went downhill fast. I should also note that my designs this week were out of order; I opened #29 instead of #27, and didn’t want to cheat by giving myself 3 full days to sit on the design. So the actual order of work is 26, 29, 28, 27, 30 — but I’ll keep them in calendar order below for simplicities sake.

Day 26 — Subscribe

I actually had 2 days left with Principle — which is part of the reason why I didn’t start a new technology. I’ve always wanted to do the typing simulation thing in a mockup, so I tried it here. It’s a bit shaky, but this was due to me copy and pasting the element the first few times rather than duplicating it — copy and pasting caused a slight disparity on X-axis position.

The design itself is pretty barebones, I mostly wanted to focus on this typing effect.

Day 27 — Drop-Down

I have no idea what the purpose of this is. Maybe some kind of voting system or character selection?

Day 28 — Contact Us

It feels weird doing a static design after animation everything for the last week and a half. This is just a standard contact page, with the option of sending your message over facebook, twitter, or email. I’ve been researching chatbots pretty recently lately, and this is something I’d like to implicate in my next personal project. Seems like it could be ok as the starting point of a conversational interface.

Day 29 — Map Hint

This is a travel destination selection tool? Game show? Trivia system? Who knows.

This is actually animated, but it wouldn’t export as a gif for whatever reason…

Day 30 — Price Hint

I made this in 5 minutes before writing this blog. The time crunch is real today.

Thanks for reading! Follow me to stay updated on the progress of the challenge. Also, consider recommending this page to your followers and friends — more eyes on me = more pressure to produce quality work. If you liked any of the stuff I posted today or in previous weeks, let’s chat about it!
